Conscious Discipline: Preventing Power Struggles
Preventing Power Struggles is based on the skills of composure, assertiveness and empathy, three of the seven skills of Conscious Discipline®. In this workshop you will be given information and practice related to the following topics:
1. Active calming: Strategies for turning off the stress response by activating the heart/brain connection
2. Why we get into power struggles: understanding what power is, and power vs. punishment vs. responsibility
3. Preventing and/or getting out of power struggles: using assertive communication, choices, and empathy.
4. Strategies for healing the effects of power struggles: repair your mistakes, plan and problem solve, and connect meaningfully.
