Play and Learn is a free program that provides the opportunity for caregivers to attend supported play groups with their children ages birth to five. The program is targeted to families that may have barriers accessing similar programs. Caregivers can be parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or anyone caring for young children. Play and Learn is a two hour play group that offers a variety of activities that may include stories, singing, building, or crafts for caregivers and children to do together. Access to valuable resources as well as time to meet with other caregivers and families are benefits of attending Play and Learn. The Play and Learn program operates at several sites across Dane County; each site utilizes materials and activities that span each learning domain (social, physical, emotional, cognitive and language). The Play and Learn program is a collaboration between United Way, 4-C, Center for Families and Madison Metropolitan School District.
