Introductory Training Requirements

4-C can assist you with training requirements for the early care and education profession. The following sections will guide you through specific course requirements for each early care and education professional opportunity. Certification

  • Fundamentals of Family Child Care
  • Abusive Head Trauma (if working with children under 5)
  • Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (if working with children under 1)
  • Mandated Reporter/Child Abuse and Neglect
  • CPR

Licensed Family Child Care

  • Fundamentals of Family Child Care
  • Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care (within 3 – 6 months of being licensed)
  • Abusive Head Trauma (if working with children under 5)
  • Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (if working with children under 1)
  • Mandated Reporter/Child Abuse and Neglect
  • CPR/AED

Licensed Group Child Care

Lead Teacher in a Group Center

  • Introduction to the Child Care Profession
  • Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher
  • Fundamental of Infant & Toddler Care

Assistant Teacher in a Group Center

  • Introduction to the Child Care Profession
  • Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler Care

Group Center Director (50 capacity Max)

  • Introduction to the Child Care Profession
  • Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher
  • 3 credits in the WI Child Care Administrator Credentials within 1 year from the date your Program Opens
