Big Apple Early Learning Academy has 3 open positions! Big Apple is a privately owned and operated center bringing quality care to all of its families. We have a “child first” mission encouraging social, emotional, and intellectual growth for all of its children in a loving environment. Big Apple recognizes children as creators and thinkers and we invite children to construct their world in a rich and responsive environment. Big Apple uses Creative Curriculum within its classrooms. We are currently looking for a Lead Preschool Teacher, Assistant Toddler Teacher and a PM Float Teacher. Preschool Teacher Someone who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children’s development. The Preschool teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the three year to five year old children in our program, as well as partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. -Responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and families o Create activities that are fun and educational for the children both in group and one on one settings o Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child o Deliver reports on potential concerns about children to administration as needed o Maintain day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, bathroom breaks, lunch time and rest time for children o Keep records of children’s progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child’s development -Qualifications and skills preferred; o Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field o Minimum of Level 6 on the registry o 2+ years’ experience working with children o Knowledge of Creative Curriculum; not required o Excellent verbal and written communication skills Assistant Teacher Someone who can help our Lead teachers to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children’s development. The Assistant teacher will be responsible for assisting with monitoring and teaching the children within the classroom, as well as partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school. -Responsibilities include but are not limited to: o Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and families o Aid in creating activities that are fun and educational for the children o Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child o Deliver reports on potential concerns about children to leads and administration as needed o Aid in maintaining day-to-day classroom routines o Aid in keeping records of children’s progress, routines, and interests, and keep parents informed about their child’s development -Qualifications and skills preferred; o Associates degree; not required o Be at least 18 years of age o Minimum Level 6 on the registry o 2+ years’ experience working with children o Knowledge of Creative Curriculum preferred but not required o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
